today, i gave cohee a new bone... we've been keeping this one for ages because it came in a pack of two... when we gave cohee the first one, she made such a mess of the floor... she chewed it with such vigour that bits and pieces were stuck to the floor and we were stuck with sticky floor for some time... so after that we kept this 2nd one and gave her some other stuff to chew on...

i guess i had to give it to her sooner or later

she was so happy when i gave it to her just now... reallllly happy... she kept jumping at me to get to it.... and after i gave it to her, she held it between her jaws and pranced around like a little pony... serious... she looked exactly like a pony prancing arouond... and she pranced into laipi's room to show off her bone... and she pranced out to the living room again... and she threw it on the floor and pounced on it like it was alive... fore legs down and bottoms up.... and pranced in and out showing off again....

btw, cohee's our puppy, we got her around end of february... she's a pembroke welsh corgi... she's a good girl :x and we adore her... i've been wanting to keep a dog since i was a kid... well, actually i wanted to keep a horse but at that very young age, i was mature enough to understand our semi-D house in alor setar, though bestowed with a generous compound, is still not enough for a horse to gallop around... anyway, i nv got to keep a dog bcoz my parents, very wise and far-sighted, knew that i wasn't able to handle a dog at that age, and they didn't want the responsibility to fall upon themselves... :P

needless to say, this act of refusing to let me keep a dog made me even more rebellious and determined to one day, be capable of supporting myself and becoming independant enough to pursue my dream :D

so, here i am.. 20 over years later... staying true to my ambition, i recklessly bought a corgi puppy from the pet shop...

if the "wit" as described in robin hobbs books really do exists, i think cohee must have used it to reach out to me in the pet shop on that fated february day... coz call me nuts but i think i really did, and still do, feel a certain kind of kinship with cohee...

but, after keeping a dog... i'm really glad my parents forbade me to keep one all those years ago... it really isn't an easy job... and i'm glad that i am a first time doggy owner at this age...

well, i don't know.. just suddenly felt like posting something after seeing my happy puppy prancing around prettily... haha..

well, raya holidays are over... went to chilling waterfalls with laipi, starrywicked, tfi, alvin and tfi's friends... this was my 2nd visit there with a different crowd... thought it was going to be packed with people since its a public holiday but surprisingly the crowd was bearable and there were even times when the waterfall pool was empty...

anyway... we were pretty worried about how to get to sungai chilling... and reminded me of that time when i was in taiwan and travelling around taiwan, hk and macao... that i never really worried about getting to and around places when i was there.... heck i didn't even need a car... their public transportation were always sufficient in taking me to wherever i wanted to go... except for maybe a few times when i was rushing, i just took a cab, but that was just short distance...

but it was a fun trip nevertheless, hope there'll be more adventure trips with starrywicked and gang... haha

the other thing i did during raya was haunting almost all the major shopping outlets in KL... from sungai wang to oneU to KLCC and midvalley... and i must say that KLCC got the most dissapointing raya decoration of all... wats with that boat huh???

weeee weeeeee weeeeeeee our company trip is next week!! can't wait can't wait!!! we're going to phuket :x ... oh no... havn't got my bikini ... .

persepolis

today is raya eve... and with more than half of my colleagues on leave, office was pretty quiet... so i ended up watching the movie "Persepolis" in office...

i borrowed this movie from one of my colleague like... MONTHS ago but never got around watching it... was initially attracted by the unique art style and animation... but after watching it, i would say, this movie is truly a gem to me because it opened my eyes and mind toward Iran and Iranians...

when i was a kid, all i knew about iran, iraq and kuwait was, they were always at war... and they were muslim countries... and all the women there wore head scarves and they're probably so poor by the war that they didn't know what was happening outside their own misery... i can remember the images in the news... its some desert looking place... always with military men... ruined buildings... and the most famous person at that time was sadam hussein...

but thanks to persepolis, i have a chance to look at a very different iran through the eyes of the author, Marjane Satrapi... i don't want to include any spoilers here so..

after watching the movie, i feel that the media is really very powerful... it is powerful at revealing the truth and it is also powerful at concealing the truth... some people manage to bring their story out and tell it to the world, but i guess an even greater number of people have to go on silently while the world look upon them through TV screens and newspapers... misunderstood...

do you really believe in what the news tells you? i had a debate with my parents about this and they said "if you don't believe in the news, what else can you believe in??"

even with the internet, news are being filtered in some countries... not to mention some people who intentionally circulate false information through blogs and emails.. its really hard to control the information we receive through all these media...

ok.. now for some happy bloggin :D

starrywicked is coming KL tomorrow!!! yay!! (^Y^)/ and we're gonna DO sungai chilling on thursday... weeeee.... can't wait for the shopping session and the back to nature session...

went to the thai embassy today... its located on jln ampang... and it was uneventful

i don't think i would have ever set foot into the thai embassy in malaysia if not because of laipi... taiwanese needs to apply visa to enter thailand... and since our company trip destination is phuket, so... we went to apply for his visa...

but really it was uneventful... and we have to go again tomorrow to collect it

so usually when apply for visa, you have to hand in your passport to the embassy so they can decorate it with extra sticker or something... so i asked laipi if he felt insecure... he say he didnt

i remembered i felt really insecure whenever i had to hand in my passport...

oh... heard the petrol price gonna decrease by ... 10 cents...

so cheapskate

and what's this about the poison milk huh???? don't know how those people responsibled for this tragedy sleep at night... hope they all go to jail and only let them drink their products every meal X( 5 meals a day... but nothing is going to bring back the lives and health of those kids :~~~~~(

i can't believe i can still remember my username and password for heyboo!! i know, its been AGES since my last update... a hundred and one excuses always pop up when i felt like updating... but to be honest, i was just lazy :"> l

at first, i thought of updating you guys the events that occured all the way from april right up till now... but it'll probably bore you guys till you wanna hit your face on a durian or something... so i think i'll just stick to updating on the NOW...

on the DS, i'm STRUGGLING on final fantasy 4... yes... STRUGGLING... if not for the will to actually finish ONE final fantasy game... i think maybe i wanna give up already.. the last i played, i was leveling up... leveling leveling leveling up.... going around in circles on the world map hoping to bump into high level monsters that will boost up my EXP... so that maybe the next time i meet a boss, one attack from cecil (the protagonist for FFIV) can kill it instantly... so after spending quite a lot of time leveling up, i thought alright, i can go for the next phase of the game... so i proceed to this foreboding looking crater thingy, watch some low poly cut scene, go to this dwarven castle to meet the king... then, suddenly the plot just flows on whether i want to or not and i'm up against some creepy little puppets... so i thought, here we go, let's see if all my leveling up did me any good...

i beat those puppets quite easily, *phew* let out a huge breath... guess its time for a little bit more low poly cut scene .. but NO... instead, this other big boss suddenly DESCENDED upon us... and we fought the best we could but that big cheater summoned some stupid dragaon and cast some spell that killed off everybody except cecil :~~~~( then somebody came to help me, and there's only two of us against the big baddie with his pet dragon... but i was still in shock over the turn of events thus messing up my strategy.... so.... the big boss finished us up quite easily :~~~(

maybe i'm just a bad gamer XD ... maybe most people will say that rpg is "easy" coz you just take turns to attack... but actually there's a lot of thinking involved not to mention you need to have quick reaction and steady nerves :P ... i mean, you go into battle, and suddenly half your party has been turned to stone, and you just can't remember which item is the cure... or or... suddenly the monster sneak a super powerful attack on your entire party leaving your healer dead and your only other party member that is alive has only 70 HP left and probably wouldn't last another attack.... omg, what else can i do but use my right index finger to press hard on the R button and pray to the crystals i can escape on time :P

then i would be licking my wounds.... splurging on phoenix downs and tents...

the best is can get preemptive attacks :P

ok the other game i was playing before final fantasy IV came along was "The World Ends With You" (TWEWY) such a long name lar.... anyway, TWEWY is also a really cool game with a really cool soundtrack but i also havn't finished it yet :">

i seem to take ages to finish games :~~( the only game that i consistently finish very fast is the "phoenix wright" series... even nich finished cooking mama 1 AND 2 while i still struggle at making pancakes and takoyaki balls.. :D

ANOTHER game.. *oops* that i put in is 'Viva Pinata'... this game is actually on xbox 360 first i think, LBL was playing it back when he first got his 360... its a very colourful game and can be quite addictive but sigh... it just doesnt look THAT good on DS now does it? :P

OK... enough of DS.... the other thing that i QUITE consistently finish is a good book... and how fortunate of me to have a colleague that borrowed 3 neil gaiman books to me.... actually, 2 of the books he lent to me like .. i think a month or two ago but i'm always wary of authors that hog bookshelves you see... so i let those 2 books, which was "stardust" and "smoke and mirrors" collect dust on my desk... then finally a couple of weeks back i started reading stardust...

stardust was actually just so-so for me... i have a feeling that, if not for the movie, i might find the book a bit disjointed but MAYBE because of the movie, i couldn't fully appreciate the book... that's the thing about movie adaptations... you better READ the book first before watching the movie... because usually there's no way the movie makers can fit every single detail into the movie... when i was reading stardust, i kept on thinking back on the movie, trying to recall if this happend, or not, and sometimes i would go... eh? was it like this?? so it kinda ruin the reading experience a bit

but "smoke and mirrors" was a blast... i was hooked on every single short story in it.. wouldn't say the same for the poems :P there was one poemy thing that i skipped entirely.. hahaha... the thing i liked about his stories was that they were very naughty and wicked... sometimes a bit dark... and he usually leaves us to draw up our own conclusions... but being a person that is used to be spooned fed throughout primary and secondary school..... sometimes i can get a bit upset because even though i can draw my own conclusions, i will have this "fear" that what if my conclusions are wrong.. or what if thats NOT what actually happend? so.. what actually DID happen? where are the answers???

and now, i'm halfway through the 3rd book, which is american gods... very fresh and interesting subject matters... well, old mythological gods has ALWAYS been intriguing... they appear in so many movies, comics, games .. etc... but its a refreshing idea to make them walk amongst mere mortals and trying hard to survive also... not so high and mighty anymore eh?

oh dear... seems like i've rambled on quite a bit :"> ok ok... hopefully i can push myself to update more.... wonder if there is a blog god or something :D since i sacrificed time and brain power to update... kee kee keeeeee

paiseh~~ very long time didn't update.... ok i must at least post something up for march... rite? rite? XD

first some DS update... finished apollo justice: ace attorney... ok lah, maybe bcoz its the first installation for the apollo justice series, i would say it wasn't as exciting and engaging as phoenix wright...well, maybe it's bcoz they need to build up the momentum of the game... but they do have really nice sprite animation this time round and i guess that i'm still at that stage of "growing" to like the characters... oh, they added some new game play as well which i feel really adds to the interactivity of the game... i'm not smitten by apollo... hmmm... some how his chords of steel and grasshopper hair aren't very appealing at the moment... i DO like his assistant trucy, she's just so.... likeable... which was surprising bcoz i thought that i wouldn't like her when i saw the promotional poster... her animations are really nice to look at... and her spunky positive personality is very contagious... my ex-collic sandara still prefers maya (phoenix wright assistant)... and i dare not tell her that i like trucy better... hahahah...

anyway, 2 year DS owner - me - never dabbled with my DS wallpaper interface until starrywicked bought his ds and HE already start to customize his wallpaper sooo... me being very kiasu.... also made an apollo justice wallpaper for my DS.. haha

how how? nice? kee kee kee

anyway, i'm feeling wickedly happy bcoz so far i already brainwashed two people to buy DS... muahahaha....

watched spiderwick chronicles the other day.... hmmm... not bad... i must say that this is probably the first film that i felt that there wasn't enough CG characters in it... haha... usually i would be complaining that the filmmakers are putting too much CG in the film and neglecting the plot... i would say that spiderwick is one of the nicer movies for the past few months... the character designs aren't very "hollywood" so its a good change... they reminded me of those illustrations in old nursery rhymes books....

clean out the closet

so so.... have you guys spring cleaned your house?

its like a chinese tradition that you have to spring clean your house before CNY... well of course a lazy bum like me doesn't help much around the house but i DO occasionally clean and tidy up my own room... ok to be honest, my parents will mop the floor and change the bed sheets for me... ahh.. to be pampered... hahaha... but from time to time, i will tidy up my closet, clean my table and stuff....

but the spring cleaning THING b4 CNY is a totally different matter... the definition of CNY spring cleaning is... one is required to dig everything out from every cupboard, shelf and corner of the house... wipe everything... and put them back again...

its a horrible task to do... bcoz during the process, one is bound to come across distractions and dilemmas... distractions as in things that resurface after gone missing for months.... oh, and in my case, photo albums... hahah... or... money... do you guys know how distracting it is to come across old photo albums? :P dilemmas on the other hand are like... things that you will never ever use ever again but you just can't throw them away bcoz 1. it MEANS something to you bcoz probably somebody gave it to you... 2. you spent money to buy it last time and it seems a waste to throw it away even though you're sure you're absolutely NOT going to use it ever again.... 3. its junk but you seem to be able to think of reasons to reuse it.. in my case its like gift boxes, ribbons, plastic casing etc etc etc...

so... you guys heard about the edison chen news rite? XD oh well... if you don't want this kind of things to happen, then don't do it in the first place.... AND also... if you have raunchy nude pictures of yourself and other people... why so stupidly let it fall into other ppl's hand?? i'm not saying its wrong to take those kind of pictures.. just well, be careful with them rite? haha...

and with the convinience of digital cameras and handphone cameras, i'm sure a lot of people around the world take such personal photos of themselves... since last time FILM AGE tak boleh mah rite? you can't exactly take nude photos of yourself and your partner and then bring to a photo studio to process rite? HAHA... film is even worse cause people wont straightaway suspect that its PHOTOSYOKED... :P

oh well, tomorrow is CNY eve... this year my fam is gonna have our fam dinner here in PJ... i really never ever thought that this would happen... but it is happening now thanks to my bro for wanting to unite my family under one roof again since we were still in uni... i'm not sure if he remembers but i remembered clearly that he said it was his goal to hopefully have my parents living in KL with us so that we can all take care of each other... and that time we started scouting for a place we can afford... well, he did most of the scouting XD ... and i was even being difficult and uncooperative when the time came to move in together because i thought i was giving up my freedom of staying out alone...

i'm just glad that one of us is clear headed .... hahahah

ok... happy CNY to everybody!!! hopefully i can do a CNY post but... errr..... see how lar..... here's a monki-boo picture i did b4 i left for taiwan... SUPPOSED to post b4 i went lar but i didn't have time to colour it that time.... so... a bit outdated....

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BOO!!!!!

yes, today, 29th dec 2007, is boo's 3rd birthday!!! i can't believe its been only three years since i started boo :O feels like five years maaaan.... we've been through a lot together, havn't we boo? and we're still ever ready for any adventures and surprises in the future, aren't we boo?

of course, i want to thank everybody who've been visiting boo... i know there aren't many out there but.... i do try to believe that i have a trail of loyal fans you know.... pls try not to be irratated when i always thick face-ly copy paste my link over to you... let this poor blogger indulge in her vanity ok? XD

anyway, in order to celebrate boo's birthday, i bought myself a new toy... HAHA... ok lah, its not really for boo's birthday lah... but it feels better to have a reason *ahem* excuse to splurge... (however pathetic it will sound)

so meet my NEW TOY!!! monkipi

aaaaaa i still can't believe i finally bought a DSLR!!!! aaaaaa

after a lot of consideration and reasoning and research.... i settled for a D40X with just the kit lens

isn't he a beauty? i think monkipi is a "he" lar, coz got one long long thing poking out mah :P ... not to mention so dark and tanned... but somehow the name "monkipi" doesnt sound TOUGH enough... hmmmm

isn't he handsome? :P

i'm really still quite lost on how to use monkipi yet... you know lar, so many buttons, bimbo finds it hard to figure out mah :"> there were quite a number of times when i looked tru the viewfinder and wanna snap a picture but keep cannot keep cannot until i found out i havnt turn it on .... HAHAHA.... well, bcoz samonki is really easy to on, just flip the rotating lens... not to mention my old FM10 don't even need to switch on any power... just take off the lens cover and we're ready to shoot... hahaha...

thank goodness i got two photography freak friends to turn to for a crash course...

and to quote one of them (ehow) : "so next you'll be signing up for flickr lar?"
