only 5 more days to xmas!!! as usual malaysians love to celebrate whatever festivities we have, so even though i'm not christian, i can't help being affected by the xmas mood... especially when the shopping complexes are all so nicely decorated and not to mention xmas gift exchange between my colleagues and friends and also a few year end parties.... love love love
and today, my university senior, Tat McTatty Tat's "award winning independent film" --- FLOWER IN MY POCKET ... will start to screen in GSC's international screens.... so, support malaysian film industry and go check it out ya!!!
this weekend is going to be a pretty busy weekend :) since the ever sexy starrywicked will be in town.... ooooo.... do i hear shopping??? do i??? and my aunt from johor is also coming down for a visit....
i'm also counting down the days to my taiwan trip :X :X :X.... gonna fly over on 2nd jan.... woo hoo.... feels like ages since i had a trip overseas....anyway, i doubt i'll be updating until i get back from taiwan.... so.... here's to a MERRY CHRISTMAS and a SPANKING NEW YEAR !!!!!!!!!!

very moodless and lazy at work today so i drew this.... hahahah
tmrw my company is having a screening seesion and a "family" dinner afterward... kinda exicted about this event... since my company is famous for being extra private and confidential these past years... so its quite a surprise that they suddenly decided to have this event....
so at first i already planned to wear this semi-formal black dress plus this short butterfly sleeve cardigan... tot it should be ok.... but today, during a meeting with our boss, he specifically pointed out again that this is not a formal event, pls try to wear casual, but no t-shirts...
and he ended the dress code issue with "just dress like an animator"

boss, i don't think you want me to wear what i wear everyday to work to an event like this XD

i finished phoenix wright 3: trials and tribulations... like... 3 weeks ago? so nice so nice... so many unexpected twists and turns.... this time they play around a lot with the story telling... flash backs, using back old cases, playing different characters, very witty lines.... such as "my opponent was both powerful and vicious. you might say he was... "powericious"'
and if all the above don't keep you entertained... i'm sure the outrageous courtroom drama will.... what with strong gusts of wind blowing, coffee cup throwing, blackouts and laser lights, defendant knawing on big metal balls and .... and .... and ...
i feel the game designers really put in a lot of heart and effort pushing themselves to make a really simple text based 2D game interesting... they come up with really suitable names for each character, both japanese and english... and the personality of every character is really unique and outrageously believable, if you get what i mean... i totally put the rest of my games on-hold when i was playing phoenix wright... hahaha...

ok... i was kinda unhappy these pass few days... unhappy and pissed...
first, was pretty down after work on friday... well... something happened in office that made me feel that i havn't been putting enough effort in what should be my own chosen "passion", which led me to doubt how much longer can i hold on to this career path, and if, IF one day i wish to stop pursuing this course... what else can i do? do i have anything else to fall back on? luckily my mood lifted a bit after friday nite jap class....
but... the dark cloud hung over me until saturday... when i was just about to feel better chatting with some friends over yahoo msgr and msn.... suddenly, both chat programes just stopped... *h o r r o r* as i frantically tried to reconnect, soon it dawned upon me that streamyx might be down....
so, i tried to connect directly tru the modem, i tried switching off the modem and the wireless and let it rest for awhile b4 turning them on again to reconnect.... but still.. no line...
and since i can't live without the internet, especially not when my DS is with my bro on a bus on the way back to alor setar..... i decided to call streamyx to file a report...
i tried... and tried..... and tried...... from saturday...... to sunday....... until...... i think i can memorize the sequence of numbers to press to get me to "for technical assistance, press 1".... and "dear valued customer, we are blah blah blah blah blah, all our agents are currently unavailable, please hold on while we blah blah blah...."
*soothing music starts playing*
for the record, none of my calls got through.... and my line was up again by sunday nite around 9.45 i think...
my point is, streamyx has really bad service.... its supposed to be a 24 hours hotline rite??? i guess the line is hot 24 hours bcoz of all the crappy service and everybody keep call in to complain... yea... thats why its hot.... but too bad there's just nobody on the line to complain to... just a recorded message and soothing music...
anyway, the other thing that made me pissed was astro.... they reshuffled the channels!!! wtf??!! now my parents are so lost becoz no more hua hee dai to watch!! and animax is now under variety.... X( X( X( i don't really like to compare countries but in taiwan, they get all their satellite channels for under RM60 and that is INCLUSIVE of their cheap porn ok?
ok... chill chill.... detachment detachment detachment.... on a lighter note, i started reading this book (yes another fantasy) called Temeraire... pls do not ask me how to pronounce it coz i dont know... i just saja pronounce in my heart as "teh-meh-ry'... well, saw some quite ok review on eyeriz's blog so thought i'd giv it a go, since "shaman's crossing" is boring me out... temeraire is quite nice though, the dragons in this story seem to take on another character... which is quite refreshing... i started back on "shaman's crossing" too when i hav time in office.... hope can get the momentum going : )

in order to be able to watch anime/j-drama without subtitles, listen and understand j-pop, and play the latest DS games in jap..... i've been taking jap lessons for almost 8, 9 months with a long break in between... and of course, i'm definitely far from being a pro... more like getting more confused down the course... haha
well, so far i've noticed some things that's kinda odd about this language... and its those things that i'm pretty sure i'll get the weird look from the teacher if i asked about it.... so, maybe i'll post some of my "observations" over here.... and hopefully, you guys too, can also get to know a bit of jap... XD

-hiragana and katakana
ok, this was one of the earliest thing that bothered me... if you just take a look at the two tables above... on your left, is the cursive flowery looking HIRAGANA, and on your right is the simple angular looking KATAKANA....
these two are like.... your alphabets in ABC, do-re-mis... and your suku kata in bahasa malaysia lar....
but if you would just look at the roman spelling below (which is how you're suppose to pronounce each "letter" lar), i hope you noticed that.... both right and left side is the same :O :O :O :O
i mean, why hav TWO sets of alphabets when they sound exactly the same :O :O :O
ok, you may rebuke me and say that roman alphabets also got two sets mah, like ABC and abc.... BUT.... its different, bcoz in english, they have a reason to have capital and small letters.... rite? actually they hav many reasons... can be to indicated the start of a sentence, starting of a name, or, as an expression for volume, or stress... rite rite rite???
but in jap, so far my understanding is, the katakana is used when they are transferring the pronounciation from other language.... meaning like "boo" will bcome "ブ (bu)"... i say "transferring" and not "translating" bcoz its not like they create their own word with their language, but just borrow the sound and spell it out in KATAKANA....
so probably not to confuse themselves from actual japanese words and foreign language, they hav two different sets of alphabets....
which i feel, they could've just used the same method as mandarin and just use " " ... or << >> .... which would be way much easier then recreating an entire new set of alphabets.... rite? XD
and one of my teachers did mention b4 that, katakana is sometimes used when you want to stress something... that is why a lot of shops or brands in jap will use katakana even to spell out words that uses hiragana.....
... yea ....
so, i tot of wat went on btween the people in charge of imposing katakana onto their nation... and here's wat i think

MOL : eh, see see, i design out this new set of alphabets for our language... coz you know lar, our hiragana, so mafan hav to write like the brush stroke and looks like cacing... i design one new set that is more futuristic look.. save space, save ink, save paper....

HA : waaaaa, ei, quite chiu leh.... your design gonna put the chinese simplified text to shame... they all simplify liao still so many strokes.... stupid chinese

ah, the weekend... almost over... went to a friend's wedding lunch buffet in sunway atrium... first time attend such a casual wedding... since they are already having the formal one like 3 times XD .... was pretty cool since almost everybody knows everybody else ... haha...
really lar this year... a lot of wedding :~~~~( pocket got hole liao
then the rest of the weekend was spent.... yea, you guessed it... playing DS ... :P ... finally got a new tool zelda!!! the grappling hook!!! omg omg so fun so fun!!! and phoenix wright also... waaaaaa..... the dialouges can really make me LOL at times XD
so... short update tonite, coz, wanna play game again liao... :P

anyway, today, the KL sky was really beautiful... morning time, it was blue with white fluffy clouds....
ok, the photos were taken using my handphone so the colour... not very nice :( when i reached dance class, i told whoever that was there, that the sky is really beautiful today.....
and one girl replied me : oh? the clouds got 4 digit number?

aiyaya, no updates no updates.....
yaaay its the weekend again!!!! i'm not sure if its age catching up with me, or if its just a shift of lifestyle.... i just wanna laze around and mushroom at home the whole day during weekends....
and nowadays, i feel like i don't really know what to update about anymore... maybe because now that i'm in a relationship, i tend to pour everything out onto him... instaed of ranting it all out on boo.... its just, tiring to repeat myself....
but let me try...
so today, woke up sooooooo late bcoz stayed up until 4 something last nite.... ei, friday nite mah.... who wanna sleep early on a friday nite rite? then had lunch with an old classmate... i had doubts on meeting him, since we've never seen each other since highschool, or maybe we did meet after highschool during chinese new year...
anyway, had a nice chat, its really interesting to see how everybody from your childhood turn out.... unexpected things happen.... some guys that i thought were playful turn out to be very loyal and reliable, girls turning into moms, normal people turning weird, weird people turned normal....
its just, a lot of surprises....
now i'm wondering if i turned out to be what my friends expected of me, or the other way round? heck, i didnt turn out to be what i thought i would turn out to be anyway...haha
ok, ok, then i dwnloaded some new games for my DS... altogether 3 detective/puzzle solving games and 1 keroro spot the difference game.... and woo hoo~~~~ got phoenix wright 4 liao!! or is it just 3? hmmm... wait i think its just 3 :P ...
PHOENIX WRIGHT - TRIALS AND TRIBULATIONS
see the guy on the right? well that's my man phoenix wright :P call me old fashioned, but i really like this game, probably some people cannot take it because its a whole lot of things to read.... no fancy graphics.... and probably by the thrid installation of this game, ppl would've gotten bored with the "pick the correct answer" game play.... but i guess i will still enjoy this game.... there was one case in the previous game, wa i think i cried in the end.... aaahhh the power of text...
TOUCH DETECTIVE 2 and PROFESSOR LAYTON
ok these two games hor, i tertarik bcoz of the art style....
this one is touch detective... so cute rite? i never played the first installation... but probably will try this one first, if its nice then only go play the first one....
 
see the dialouge... so wicked rite? haha... i like games with wicked dialouges... i just tried it out a bit... so far so good....
and this is professor layton, also a investigative game with a lot of puzzles
very very 2D.... its like watchin a 2D feature film during the cut scenes....
nice hor.... but a bit slow lar this game.... its like every corner there's a puzzle.... good game if you wanna use some brain power.... i just hope the puzzles don't bore me or it gets too hard for my brain.... another thing about this game is, bcoz its a chinese fan subbed version (bcoz the original version is in jap, lord knows how these fans do these amazing things but i'm just glad that they do it), the characters will still be talking in japanese but the text are in mandarin... so its like watching jap drama with subtitles sometimes... hahahahah
btw, my brain age is 50 years old....
KERORO SPOT THE DIFFERENCE
ok, i'm just wondering, how interesting can a spot the difference game get? i mean, c'mon, after maybe the 50th picture, will you start to get bored of such a game? but who cares.... keroro is just too cute to resist!!!! seriously this is one anime that i nv thought i would like but after watching two keroro movies, they are really simply irresistable.... hahahahahah

ZELDA - PHANTOM HOURGLASS
i suck at it.... stupid temple of the ocean king... stupid stupid stupid.... but its a very very very nice game.... very creative game play!!! fun dialouges!!! i'm just halfway tru.... but there's this temple that sucks the life out of my character... i'm only immune if i got the hourglass or if i stand at some safe zones... and the hourglass.... got time limit... argh... suck at games with time limit.... and i hav to keep go back to the temple and redo all the things.... argh

SO NICE SO NICE SO NICE.... so kam cheong... ok, i can't say i like their 3D design, the princess look like a trans in my opinion.... but omg the game play is so fun!!!! another game i find funny + interesting is.... get ready for the outrageous name .... FRESHLY PICKED TINGLES ROSY RUPEELAND.... its quite a silly game which made me LOL LOL LOL at the beginning, but at the moment i stopped for awhile to concentrate on zelda.... another game is PICROSS.... which is a game that reminds me of minesweeper... haha... quite interesting also XD

i know i know, i've not been the most hard-updating blogger recently :P
well, right now i'm on holiday... my company half force half gave us two weeks off... means all of us hav to take 1 week and company give us another week.... their reason being everybody have been working very hard continuously for a long time, so its time for everybody to take a break...
so a lot of ppl are pretty envious that i have 2 weeks off.... well, i'm glad for the break too, but there's nothing to be envious about .... since nobody envy us when we have to work late hours and weekends... like what my dad always say about loving someone, "it comes in a package, got good got bad, cannot pick and choose, have to love everything"...
i'm just so looking forward to this holiday :x .... going to kuantan, then to redang (pray no monsoon) then back to kuantan.... all the bitchy places, oops, i mean beachy....
suddenly i'm reminded of nich's question on facebook, "what's your favourite holiday destination?"....
i think i hav to agree with starrywicked, that, it has got to be anywhere beachy, with the sun that can burn your skin,i mean give you a nice tan :P, and crystal clear emerald water, and may it be clear blue skies or planted with fluffy clouds..... that would be total bliss....
speaking of facebook, seems to be the latest "craze"... well, to be honest i was quite addicted to it for..... one week? hahha..... then just.... died down..... ok lah i still get the occasional surprises when my sweetheart marvin send me hatching eggs and growing plants.... and i still kiasu kiasi must win when get challenged by ppl on fight club....
but besides that.... my facebook is slowly rotting away like my friendster..... :P
let me think what else, i went on a cycling trip in bukit cahaya, FORMERLY known as bukit ceraka.... was pretty cool, one of my friend brought a whole lot of delicious food there (including strawberries, sandwiches, fruits and tidbits.... ) and we picniced by this lake....
then i went to see the fireworks competition in putrajaya.... team australia and team japan.... woo hoo the jam was as amazing as the fireworks....
then i went to see jacky cheung's concert..... believe it or not, this is my virgin concert trip XD .... ok, i've been to many plays and musicals.... but this is the first time going to a concert... and i totally enjoyed the show!!!! really there's nothing to complain on my part and i'm not even his fan.... omg he can sing he can dance, like really dance ok? and it was almost non-stop 3 hours plus of singing!!!!!
oh well, time to end this post :P .... the sun and the sea!!! here i come!!!!
